The W2W TOUR is a lower profile event, less competitive, more relaxing, than the WINES2WHALES MTB Race which takes place in November.

The HOUWHOEK INN offers a special accommodation (including meals) package for TOUR entrants from 13 - 15 May 2011. Book early at 028 284 9646.

The TOUR excludes timing, route marking, marshals, huge logistics, radio networks and television coverage. However, good water points are staged every 20km, a bike workshop and medics are available.

Categories
The W2W TOUR allows MTB's to participate at own pace
Faster: 3.5 - 4.5 hrs per stage
Average: 4.0 - 5.5 hrs per stage
Slower: 5.0 - 7.0 hrs per stage

All categories cycle the same route and each category is guided by 2 - 5 guides. If the pace is too fast, a rider can wait at a waterpoint for the following category or start the next day in a different category. Support vehicles will be available at waterpoints to offer a lift to tired MTB's and sweepers, on bicycles in the slower group, will check that no one is left behind.

The TOUR aims to establish a mutual beneficial and long term partnership with en route wineries. To ensure effective destination and product marketing of the wineries, some are utilised as water and spectator points.
